HOWEVER, WE DO ALLOW DELIVERY DRIVERS TO USE FOR BUSINESS USE ONLY. DRIVERS WILL HAVE TO FREQUENTLY GOOGLE ENTER ADDRESSES INTO THEIR NAVIGATION APPS. WE ALSO ALLOW MANAGERS TO USE CELL PHONES AS A FORM OF COMMUNICATION TO KEEP LINES FREE FOR CUSTOMERS. IF DRIVERS AND/OR MANAGERS ABUSE THIS POLICY IT WILL BE REVOKED FROM THAT INDIVIDUAL.

ABSENCES ARE ONLY EXCUSED WITH A DOCTOR'S NOTE. ONLY THE DATES INDICATED ON THE DOCTOR'S NOTE ARE EXCUSABLE SHIFTS. UNEXCUSED ABSENCES WILL BE DOCUMENTED AND EMPLOYEES WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR MISSED SHIFTS. WE SCHEDULE EXACTLY THE AMOUNT OF EMPLOYEES WE NEED BASED ON PROJECTIONS. FOR A PIZZA DELIVERY DRIVER, YOUR CAR IS YOUR LIFE-LINE. YOU WILL WANT TO PROPERLY MAINTAIN YOUR VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES. KEEPING UP WITH MAINTENANCE WILL ALSO HELP YOUR CAR TO OPERATE MORE EFFICIENTLY. IN THE EVENT YOUR CAR IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY, WE ASK THAT YOU MAKE EVERY ATTEMPT TO FIND A DELIVERY DRIVER TO COVER THE SHIFT. IF A REPLACEMENT CANNOT BE FOUND, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO FIND TRANSPORTATION TO THE STORE AND WORK YOUR SHIFT ASSISTING WITH IN-STORE OPERATIONS. THIS WILL ALLOW ONE OF THE MANAGERS TO BACK UP DELIVERY AND MAINTAIN GOOD SERVICE LEVELS. FAILURE TO WORK YOUR SCHEDULED SHIFT WITHOUT A REPLACEMENT WILL BE DOCUMENTED AS AN UNEXCUSED ABSENCE AND YOU WILL BE SUBJECT TO DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS.

FOOD SERVICE IS NOT AN EXACT BUSINESS. YOUR CLOCK OUT TIMES WILL VARY BASED ON SALES VOLUME. SOME SHIFTS WILL BE BUSIER THAN PROJECTED, SOME MORE SLOW THAN PROJECTED. THIS MEANS YOUR SHIFT CAN EXTEND BEYOND YOUR SCHEDULED TIME OR END PRIOR TO YOUR SCHEDULED TIME. IF THE STORE IS STILL IN NEED OF YOUR SERVICES, YOU ARE EXPECTED TO STAY UNTIL YOUR SERVICES ARE NO LONGER NEEDED. EVERY EMPLOYEE WILL HAVE ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND/OR TASKS TO COMPLETE BEFORE LEAVING. SEE "DEPLOYMENT SCHEDULE POLICY" FOR MORE DETAILS. DEPLOYMENT SCHEDULES

EACH DAY HOLDS MANY TASKS THAT CANNOT BE DONE BY ONLY A FEW INDIVIDUALS. IT TAKES THE ENTIRE TEAM WORKING TOGETHER TO KEEP THE STORE RUNNING AS EFFICIENTLY AS POSSIBLE. DURING OPENING PROCEDURES, MANAGERS TAKE TIME TO PLAN THEIR DAY. THEY REVIEW IN-STORE POSITIONING TO MAXIMIZE PRODUCTIVITY AND DELEGATE TASKS SUCH AS PREP AND/OR CLEANING DUTIES. POSITIONING AND TASKS ARE ORGANIZED ON A DAILY FORM CALLED THE "DEPLOYMENT SCHEDULE". THIS ALLOWS EACH EMPLOYEE TO CLOCK IN, REVIEW WHERE THEY WILL BE WORKING, AND ANY TASKS THAT NEED TO BE COMPLETED BEFORE LEAVING. MANAGERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING TASKS ARE DONE PROPERLY. DEPLOYMENTS MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE YOU ASK TO LEAVE. WHEN THE TASK IS LEFT INCOMPLETE, SOMEONE ELSE MUST COMPLETE THE TASK FOR YOU. THIS PUTS MORE WORK ON YOUR PEERS AND MANAGERS. PLEASE RESPECT YOUR TEAM AND COMPLETE YOUR ASSIGNED TASKS DAILY.

IN SOME CASES, THE DELIVERY DRIVER, OR THE ORDER TAKER ARE THE ONLY INDIVIDUALS A CUSTOMER MAY COME IN CONTACT WITH. THAT INTERACTION NEEDS TO BE FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL. BELOW ARE BULLET POINTS THAT DESCRIBE OUR UNIFORM EXPECTATIONS. EACH EMPLOYEE IS REQUIRED TO BE IN FULL UNIFORM BEFORE YOU CLOCK IN FOR YOUR SHIFT.

  • LONG HAIR MUST BE PULLED BACK AWAY FROM SHOULDERS  

  • NO PERSONAL COATS OR JACKETS ARE ALLOWED. DURING COLD WEATHER, EMPLOYEES HAVE THE OPTION OF WEARING LONG SLEEVE TOPS AS LONG AS THEY ARE WHITE OR RED IN COLOR. NO OTHER COLOR IS EXCEPTED. EVERY DRIVER IS REPRESENTING THE PAPA JOHN'S BRAND WHEN ON THE ROAD. EVERY DRIVER WILL HAVE A PAPA JOHN'S ISSUED CAR TOPPER ON THEIR VEHICLE. IF YOU ARE DRIVING RECKLESSLY, IT WILL BE REPORTED TO US. IF THE MANAGER ON DUTY RECEIVES A CALL ABOUT RECKLESS DRIVING AND CAN DESCRIBE THE LOCATION AND VEHICLE, THE COMPLAINT WILL BE DOCUMENTED AND DISCUSSED WITH THE YOU. IF WE RECEIVE MORE THAN TWO PHONE CALLS IN ANY 90 DAY PERIOD, PDI WILL HAVE TO CONSIDER YOU A LIABILITY AND YOU WILL BE SUBJECT FOR TERMINATION. ALWAYS KEEP THE SAFETY OF OTHERS AND YOURSELF A TOP PRIORITY.

PLEASE RESPECT YOUR TEAM AND BE AT WORK ON TIME EVERYDAY. ALWAYS PLAN AHEAD AND COMMUNICATE TO YOUR GENERAL MANAGER IF YOU ARE HAVING ANY ISSUES. TARDINESS WILL BE DOCUMENTED BY MANAGEMENT AND CAN RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS IF NECESSARY.

SCHEDULE CHANGES

PDI POLICY REQUIRES YOUR GENERAL MANAGER TO POST THE STORE SCHEDULE EVERY FRIDAY BY 4:00 PM FOR THE FOLLOWING WEEK. ONCE A SCHEDULE IS POSTED, WE ASK THAT YOU EMPLOYEES NOT REQUEST CHANGES. THE SCHEDULE IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT TOOLS FOR THE SUCCESS OF A STORE. POSITIONING AND PAIRING OF EMPLOYEES IS ALREADY THOUGHT OUT DURING THE SCHEDULE MAKING PROCESS. CHANGES TO SCHEDULE DISRUPT THIS PROCESS. IF A SCHEDULE CHANGE MUST BE MADE DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES, THE EMPLOYEE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FINDING A REPLACEMENT THAT CAN COMPLETE LIKE DUTIES (I.E. DOUGH SLAPPER FOR DOUGH SLAPPER). ANY CHANGES MUST BE APPROVED BY A MANAGER. ONLY MANAGEMENT IS ALLOWED TO WRITE AND CHANGE A SCHEDULE.

ALL STORES ARE EQUIPPED WITH A MAPPING SYSTEM THAT UTILIZES GOOGLE MAPS. THESE SYSTEMS ASSIST THE STORE IN IDENTIFYING WHICH DELIVERIES CAN GO TOGETHER. PDI ENCOURAGES TO TAKE 2 DELIVERIES AT A TIME WHENEVER POSSIBLE. WE CALL THIS THE "TWO RUN MAX" RULE. OUR GOAL IS TO GET A HOT AND FRESH ORDER TO THE CUSTOMER'S DOOR IN 35 MINUTES. YOUR STORE IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO THIS STANDARD. WHEN A DRIVER TAKES MORE THAN TWO DELIVERIES ON A RUN, THE LIKELIHOOD OF THE THIRD ORDER REACHING THE GOAL OF 35 MINUTES IS NOT GOOD. YOUR MANAGERS SHOULD ROUTE EVERY RUN YOU ARE ASSIGNED. YOU WILL BE IN A ROTATION THAT THE STORE COMPUTER WILL KEEP UP WITH. THE NEXT DRIVER UP WILL ALWAYS BE ROUTED THE OLDEST DELIVERY AND ANY OTHER DELIVERY THAT CAN BE SUCCESSFULLY DELIVERED IN 35 MINUTES. THIS IS A GENERAL RULE OF THUMB. THERE ARE MANY VARIABLES A MANAGER MUST CONSIDER WHEN ROUTING. SOMETIMES SINGLES WILL BE THE NORM AND OTHER TIMES IT IS JUSTIFIABLE TO ROUTE THREE OR MORE DELIVERIES AT A TIME. YOUR MANAGER WILL MAKE THESE DECISIONS AND ROUTE ACCORDINGLY. 

CAR TOPPER POLICY

EVERY DELIVERY DRIVER WILL BE ASSIGNED A SPECIFIC CAR TOPPER. EACH CAR TOPPER IS ENGRAVED WITH IDENTIFYING MARKS AND THE INFORMATION IS PLACED ON A LOG. DRIVERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CAR TOPPER THEY ARE ASSIGNED. CAR TOPPERS ARE TO BE PLACED ON TOP OF YOUR VEHICLE AND PLUGGED INTO A CIGARETTE LIGHTER. IF THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY, A BATTERY CORD CAN BE OBTAINED FROM A MANAGER. THE CAR TOPPER IS TO BE PLACED DOOR TO DOOR AND NOT "SHARK" STYLE. AT DUSK, THE CAR TOPPER IS REQUIRED TO BE LIT. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST FORMS OF MARKETING FOR THE PAPA JOHN'S BRAND. FAILURE TO HAVE YOUR SIGN ON TOP OF CAR OR LIT BY REQUIRED TIMES, WILL RESULT IN FORFEIT ON COMMISSION FOR THE SHIFT. UPON LEAVING COMPANY EITHER VOLUNTARILY OR INVOLUNTARILY, THE DRIVER IS REQUIRED TO RETURN THIS SIGN WITHIN 24 HOURS. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN $125 BEING DEDUCTED.

WE UNDERSTAND PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES. THERE ARE MANY THINGS THAT WE WILL VIEW AS COACHING OPPORTUNITIES AND EXPECT PEOPLE TO LEARN FROM. HOWEVER, THERE ARE A FEW THINGS THAT WE HAVE ESTABLISHED AS ZERO TOLERANCE POLICIES AND OFFENSES TO THESE ARE SUBJECT FOR IMMEDIATE TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT.

PDI EMPLOYS MANY PEOPLE LOOKING FOR PART TIME WORK TO SUPPLEMENT INCOME. WE ALSO EMPLOYEE MANY FULL TIME EMPLOYEES WHO DEPEND ON EARNINGS FOR LIVELIHOOD. ONE OF THE BEST PERKS WE OFFER IS FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING. PDI MANAGERS WORK HARD TO BE AS FLEXIBLE AS POSSIBLE. UPON HIRE, EVERY EMPLOYEE AGREES TO WHEN THEY ARE AVAILABLE TO WORK. MANAGERS SCHEDULE ACCORDING TO THE NEEDS OF THE STORE AND ALL EMPLOYEE AVAILABILITY. WE ACCEPT SPECIAL REQUESTS FOR TIME OFF AND CALL THESE "SCHEDULE REQUEST". THE KEY WORD BEING REQUEST. WE ARE NOT ABLE TO GRANT ALL REQUESTS AT ALL TIMES. IN MANY CASES, MOST EMPLOYEES WANT OFF THE SAME DAYS AS OTHERS. SCHEDULE REQUESTS ARE GRANTED ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS. A SCHEDULE REQUEST NEVER GUARANTEES TIME OFF. ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR MANAGER A COUPLE OF WEEKS IN ADVANCE IF NEEDING OFF ANY MORE THAN THREE CONSECUTIVE DAYS (I.E. VACATION, OUT OF TOWN, ETC). BEFORE MAKING ANY PLANS, ALWAYS RESPECT YOUR TEAM AND MAKE SURE YOUR SCHEDULED SHIFTS CAN BE COVERED.

WHILE WAITING FOR DELIVERY

EVERY DRIVER WILL HAVE TIME WHEN THEY ARE NOT ON THE ROAD. THERE WILL BE TIMES WHEN THERE ARE NO DELIVERIES UP AND TIMES WHILE YOU ARE SIMPLY WAITING FOR THE ORDER TO COME OUT OF THE OVEN. DURING THESE TIMES, WE EXPECT DELIVERY DRIVERS TO ASSIST IN-STORE OPERATIONS. IN THE BEGINNING, YOU WILL HAVE SIMPLE TASKS SUCH AS CLEANING, FOLDING BOXES, ETC.  IN TIME, YOU WILL LEARN ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES SUCH AS ORDER TAKING, PIZZA TOPPING, PREP, AND OVEN TENDING. THE MORE DRIVERS ASSIST IN-STORE OPERATIONS THE FASTER PRODUCTS COME OUT OF THE OVEN AND THIS INCREASES THE LIKELIHOOD OF DELIVERING MORE ORDERS GOING IN THE SAME DIRECTION. IF UNSURE WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE, PLEASE APPROACH A MANAGER ON DUTY AND SIMPLY ASK "HOW CAN I HELP?"

THE LARGEST COMPLAINT IN THE PIZZA DELIVERY INDUSTRY IS ORDER ACCURACY. PDI HAS CREATED SEVERAL CHECKS AND BALANCES TO HELP ENSURE ORDERS ARE PROCESSED CORRECTLY FOR OUR CUSTOMERS. IT STARTS WITH ORDER TAKERS THOROUGHLY REPEATING ORDERS TO CUSTOMERS. FROM THERE WE HAVE RED DOTS THAT ORDER TAKERS PLACE ON ORDERS AS AN INDICATION THAT SOMETHING EXTRA HAS BEEN ADDED TO AN ORDER, SUCH AS A 2-LITER PEPSI OR EXTRA GARLIC SAUCE. THE DELIVERY DRIVER ALSO HAS AN ORDER SUMMARY ON THE BOTTOM OF THE RECEIPT THAT PRINTS UPON CHECKING OUT DELIVERIES. DELIVERY DRIVERS AND PERSONS WORKING THE TILL STATIONS ARE THE LAST PERSON TO HANDLE AND CHECK PRODUCT FOR ACCURACY. IT TAKES ONLY A FEW EXTRA SECONDS FOR EACH PERSON TO DO THEIR PART AND FOLLOW THESE PRACTICES. WHEN WE HAVE AN INCORRECT ORDER WE UPSET CUSTOMERS, AND IN MANY CASES, SPEND 45 MINUTES CORRECTING A DELIVERY THAT COULD HAVE BEEN FIXED WITH ONLY A FEW SECONDS. PICTURE BELOW IS AN EXAMPLE OF AN ORDER WITH A 2-LITER PEPSI. THE RED DOT HAS BEEN ATTACHED TO THE ORDER TO INDICATE AN EXTRA ITEM HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE ORDER.

WORK RELATED INJURIES

ANY WORK RELATED INJURY THAT CAN BE CONSIDERED LIFE THREATENING SHOULD CONTACT 911 IMMEDIATELY. ALL WORK RELATED INJURIES MUST BE REPORTED TO A MANAGER.  IN THE EVENT OF AN AUTO ACCIDENT, TRY TO REMAIN CALM, SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION FOR ANYONE IN NEED, THEN NOTIFY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. NEVER ADMIT FAULT IN ANY TRAFFIC ACCIDENT. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO DETERMINE THE PARTY AT FAULT IN ANY ACCIDENT. ALWAYS RETURN A COPY OF ANY POLICE REPORT TO THE STORE AND THE STORE WILL SUBMIT TO HUMAN RESOURCES. IF ANY INJURY IN-STORE OR DELIVERY IS NOT LIFE-THREATENING, PLEASE FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

  • INJURED EMPLOYEE NOTIFIES MANAGER OF INCIDENT 

  • INJURED EMPLOYEE IMMEDIATELY CALLS TRIAGNOW AT 1-855-752-7189 (AVAILABLE 24 HOURS)

  • TRIAGNOW GATHERS PERTINENT INFORMATION AND GUIDES THE INJURED EMPLOYEE TO APPROPRIATE CARE 

  • TRIAGNOW IMMEDIATELY NOTIFIES MEDICAL FACILITY IF INJURED EMPLOYEE IS ARRIVING AND SENDS INCIDENT REPORTS TO EMPLOYER

14-15 YEAR OLD POLICY

PDI CAN START HIRING AT THE AGE OF 14. HOWEVER THERE ARE LABOR LAWS THAT WE MUST FOLLOW AT ALL TIMES. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF BOTH THE MANAGEMENT TEAM AND ANY PERSON UNDER THE AGE OF 16 TO COMPLY WITH THESE LAWS. WHEN SCHOOL IS IN SESSION, ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 16 CANNOT WORK PAST 15 HOURS PER WEEK AND MAY NOT WORK MORE THAN 8 HOURS IN A SHIFT AND MUST CLOCK OUT BY 7:00 PM. WHEN SCHOOL IS NOT IN SESSION, ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 16 CANNOT WORK PASY 40 HOURS PER WEEK AND MAY NOT WORK MORE THAN 8 HOURS IN A SHIFT AND MUST CLOCK OUT BY 9:00 PM. THEY ALSO CANNOT PERFORM PREP DUTIES, LOAD, OR UNLOAD THE OVEN.
